Kumsal Otel

We are yet to receive any specific reports from the new Istanbul Airport however the resort of Karaburun to the north of the Airport appears to offer opportunities to at least view aircraft departing or arriving.

The Kumsal Otel is a basic hotel located on the climb out or approach at around 2 miles. We have no spotting reports from the hotel itself however numerous internet forums mention that the hotel suffers from noise from low flying aircraft passing by the hotel.

It is not clear if the rooms will have views of the climb out or approach however the resort itself will definitely have views. There is a beach directly in front of the hotel as well as a number of cafes and bars. The resort appears to be at a similar range to what the Deira area is to Dubai. If arrivals are from over the sea there appears to be good photographic possibilities from the beach area in the vicinity of the hotel.

Yotelair Istanbul Airport Airside

The Yotelair Hotel Airside is available as a transit hotel only. It may be of use for spotting for those with long layovers between connecting flights. It could also be used as a base for an overnight spotting trip providing that only hand luggage is carried.

There are no reports of rooms with views however the hotel should give free access airside at the New Istanbul Airport which has various vantage points from large windows airside.

It must be noted that Yotelair also have a landside hotel here, this hotel has no views and obviously does not give access to the airside area.
