Room 211 gives excellent views described above, but any high level room facing to the rear of the hotel should be sufficient.

The hotel has no views of the actual airport.

Another report has the following information : the Holiday Inn Express at the end of the runway, it’s so close in fact that you can hear the wake vortices after an aircraft passes over on its final approach to runway 26L ,Runway 26R can be seen in the distance. The Hotel has two floors and odd numbered rooms from X39-X63 are the only rooms that work for a spotter. Rooms 239/241 and 251/253 have interconnecting doors if you are in a larger group

I stayed at the Munich Novotel for 3 nights this week and was allocated room 463 on the fourth floor and was opposite the LH maintenance, on the day of arrival they were using 26’s and with the help of planefinder or FR24 I was able to see what I wanted, but the next day they switched over to 08’s which made thing so much easier, only problem was when landing aircraft required were on 08L I had to time it just right to walk to the other side of the hotel to watch them sail by the window.

The Besucherpark station is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel and I would say 20 minute walk to the mound. From the terminal area the bus 635 takes to to the hotel from bus area, stop number one, this is located near the airport control tower and the ride cost me €1.50 Euros on the first day then I noticed no one was paying the next two days as it was just a 10 minute bus ride, not that I had’nt paied as I had bought a day pass for trains and buses for my days out an about. I sure I have covered everything, oh yes room was very comfortable and clean 🙂
