| Is located to the west of the National Airport. Corner rooms are reported to have views of the airport. The Crystal City area itself is around a one mile walk along a dedicated cycle/jogging path to the famous Gravelly Point Park which is a supurb photo point when runway 19 is in use. If the airport are using Runway 01,Marina Drive is about a 1.5 mile walk, where again good views can be had. | ||

| Location: | ** | Location is about 2 mins walk to Rosslyn Metro, one of the major metro stations in DC, and about 5 stops from the airport. |
| Spotting: | ** | Having stayed in many of the Crystal City hotels, I can confirm none have good views. Just stayed at the Holiday Inn Key Bridge Rosslyn and this is excellent. Ask for a river facing room, and as long as the weather’s not abysmal, you will see all landers from the north, or all northbound departures, as they follow the river. Even numbered rooms are the ones you need. It’s 17 floors high, so the higher the better. This photo was from room 810. On clear days you will see some Dulles landers and the odd departure, plus plenty of westbound Baltimore departures, with the added bonus of military/Govt helis passing right by the hotel (and the Marriott opposite, which is not so good for views). The HI KBR has a 17th floor panoramic restaurant, so you can still spot whilst eating up there. Report Credit Nigel Howarth |
