| Sixteenth Naiyang Beach Hotel (New addition 2019) | ||
| Is situated around a 10 minute cycle ride or 30 minute walk from the fabulous beach area and viewing points at Phuket Airport. The hotel is situated in the village of Nay Yang which has a number of restaurants but is much quieter than the larger holiday resorts in Phuket. The resort has great facilities and rates well in customer reviews.
The hotel has a small café selling snacks and cold beer etc. There is a restaurant on the 3rd floor where breakfast or dinner can be ordered as well as room service. A large convenience store can also be found by turning right outside of the hotel and taking a short walk. There are numerous shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walk from the hotel. |

| Spotting: | ** | Rooms facing west are single beds and will face the apron and terminal. All is not lost if you need a double room as the hotel has a rooftop pool which overlooks the airport with only a couple of stands not visible. The rooftop officially closes at 2100 however a few spotters have asked at reception and got an extension to midnight which enables a few of the Chinese flights to be seen. The aprons are pretty well lit at night which enables you to see the airline colours on the aircraft although flight tracking software is required for the tie ups.A rooftop bar will soon be opening by the pool which may have an impact on opening times, we await further reports.
Report 1 We stayed at the Sixteenth Naiyang Beach Hotel in room 711 which is a business room or Junior Suite on Booking.com). It gives clear view on the international terminal and everything can be seen landing or in take off. Shops and restaurants are nearby and they have free bikes to go to the beach. The photo was taken from the pool on the rooftop, directly above our room with so with the same view. Report 2 Stayed at the 16th Naiyang Beach Hotel, close to the airport. From my room I could see half of the International parking, and all aircraft climbing out. From the swimming pool area on the top floor you could see even more. Unfortunately they were landing from the east as August is a monsoon month, so no speccy shots from the beach. The weather was warm but wet. The walk to the beach spot would take twenty minutes on a good day. 200 Baht to get into the national park (ten dollars)

The hotel is situated in the village of Nay Yang which has a number of restaurants but is much quieter than the larger holiday resorts in Phuket. The resort has great facilities and rates well in customer reviews.
This hotel is not as spotter friendly as the others featured as it has no views of the airport. It is however ideal if you are taking family with lots of facilities, plus the beach located under the approach is only a short cycle ride away. |

Above. Directions from the Dewa complex to the beach area at Phuket. The directions last for around 1 minute 10 seconds, the rest of the video illustrates the great views of traffic which can be had from this location. Louis Runway View Hotel
Opened in 2018 this hotel is literally situated a 2 minute walk from the terminal. Ask for an airport facing room with a balcony and you will get views similar to below. No movements will be missed from this hotel. Room 403 has reported great views. There are also large windows at the end of each corridor which offer views at a different angle.
The hotel offer a shuttle to the nearby beach under the approach where you can get your famous Phuket Airport landing shots when traffic is landing from over the sea.

OYO 433 Wake Park and Resort Hotel
Basic accommodation with a difference! This accommodation is situated at the other end of the Phuket Runway when compared to the other hotels above. Accommodation is basic at around 20 Uk pounds per night. This area is not near to the bustling beach resorts however the hotel provides lots of water sports activities for the more energetic.
For the aviation enthusiast the main draw of this place is that it is on short final for when operations are on the opposite runways to the famous beach area. Great landing shots can be taken from your bed at the poolside. The chalets look to be single storey, in theory you should be able to spot from the rooms if facing out over the water.
At only 20 GBP a night this hotel could actually offer a backup option for photography as insurance for when the wind changes direction. Booking these rooms in conjunction with one of the beach hotels above will enable you to use both facilities if the wind changes direction-a short hop in the taxi will be all that is required to ensure that photography is possible for most of the day.
