The Novotel Brussels Airport
is located just 2km from the airport and is connected to the terminal by a free 24 hour shuttle bus. For successful spotting you need a room on either the 4th or 5th floors. When booking this hotel ask for a room where you can see the aircraft. From here you will have views of runway 07L / 25R. This is usually the runway used for departures. If you are on the 4th floor you may have a few problems with the trees that are close by, but generally they do not pose too many problems.
Location: | *** | Just minutes from the terminal and adjacent to the 07L threshold. |
Spotting: | ** |
Ask for rooms on the 4th or ideally the 5th floor for views. The views are reported as adequate but not great. Odd numbered rooms from 583-599 probably have the best views, however the 4th floor wouldn’t work with these numbers due the high trees. The views from 583-599 are the Runway 07L threshold. This also means that any departures from the opposite direction on 25R would be seen. Room 469-479 and 569-579 would also work but are at 90 degrees to the rooms above therefore the aircraft are well into the climb by the time that they appear. If Runway 02 is in use nothing can be seen from these rooms. From a regular visitor the advise would be to pay the extra money and stay at the Sheraton if you are looking to see the majority of the movements. |
Photos: | ** | The bedroom windows do not open fully which makes photos slightly awkward |
Value: | *** | Great value when you consider the location. A typical price for a twin room being £5 |
